Rolling Admission for Master's Studies

In addition to the Regular Admission for the LUT Master's Programmes in English, we offer you an option to apply via Rolling Admission as well.

Please note however, that if getting admitted through Rolling Admission and accepting your study place within 2 weeks from the admission decision as required, there is no point of applying through the Regular Admission as even if admitted, you would not be able to change your decision for the accepted study place due to the rule of One Study Place per Term Provision.

All the eligible applicants meeting with the requirements for Rolling Admission will be admitted for studies starting the next Fall.

Application Period

  • Application period for studies starting in August 2019 is closed.
    The next Rolling Admission for studies starting in August 2020 will be on October 1, 2019 - May 31, 2020.

Eligibility Requirements

There are special eligibility requirements when applying for the Master's Programmes via Rolling Admission. Please find these special eligibilty requirements listed at Rolling Admission for Master's Studies - Eligibility Requirements.

Tuition Fee

Citizens of the EU/EEA Countries and Switzerland

There is no tuition fee to be paid for the nationalities within the European Union (EU), The European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland.

Citizens of the Non-EU/EEA Countries (excluding Switzerland)

There is a tuition fee to be paid for the citizens of a country outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland. The LUT Tuition Fee for all the Master's Programmes is EUR 10 000 per academic year.

Exceptions to the Rule

Holders for a Finnish Residence Permit Card with the status P, P-EU and A together with an EU Family Member's Residence Card in Finland and EU Blue Card in Finland are not required to pay a tuition fee.

If having one of the listed Residence Permit cards, remember to attach a copy for your Finnish Residence Permit Card to your application documents.


For the first academic year, there are no scholarships available when applying via Rolling Admission.

For the second academic year, if required to pay a tuition fee, you are able to apply and get a 100% Tuition Fee Scholarship if having completed a minimum of 60 ECTS credits of studies* during the first academic year with the minimum GPA of 4.25 on the scale of 1.00-5.00.

*Studies that are included in your personal study plan and listed on your Transcript of Records by the end of the first academic year on July 31.

  • Contact LUT University / Admissions Services at and let us know the programme that you would like to apply to
  • You will receive an e-mail from us with a link to your personal application form together with the instructions
  • Fill in and submit the application form
  • E-mail us the following documents at
    • A signed print-out for your Application Form
    • An officially certified copy for your Degree Certificate
      + official translation in English whenever the original document is not in English, Swedish or Finnish
    • An officially certified copy for your Transcript of Records
      + official translation in English whenever the original document is not in English, Swedish or Finnish
    • Language test result
    • A copy for your GMAT or GRE score
    • Copy for your passport or ID card
    • Copy for your Finnish Residence Permit Card/Residence Card (when applicable)
  • No hard copies to be mailed to LUT Admissions Services

Admission Decision

  • You will receive your Admission Decision within a month from the date of having provided us with all the required documents as requested.

Presenting the Original Degree Certificate

  • Be prepared to present your original Degree Certificate during your first months at LUT University

This is the final part of your admission; not presenting the required document or presenting a document that was involved in any kind of forgery will lead into revoking your study right at LUT University.


Accepting the Offered Study Place

  • You are required to accept the offered study place within two weeks from the date of receiving your Admission Decision by e-mail
  • Please note that you are able to accept only one study place in a programme that begins in Finland on the Fall term in 2019
    • You cannot change your acceptance anymore to another study place after having already accepted the first study place or, cancel the accepted study place and accept a new one after that either.
