Jari Hämäläinen re-elected as COST Scientific Committee Chair

At the 9th meeting of the COST (European Cooperation in Science & Technology) Scientific Committee in Brussels on 15 and 16 May, Professor Jari Hämäläinen has been unanimously re-elected as Scientific Committee Chair for a period of two years.

The COST Scientific Committee advises the COST Association about the quality of the Open Call and, in particular, about the procedures related to the submission, evaluation, and selection of proposals. It also oversees the monitoring and final assessment of COST Actions.

Hämäläinen is pleased to continue his service to the Scientific Committee, the members of which each contribute unique wisdom and experience to the work of the Committee.

"My aim for the coming two years is to keep the Scientific Committee working to the satisfaction of all of its stakeholders, and to add value to the work of COST and the research community".

Professor Hämäläinen, Vice Rector for Research and Innovation at LUT University, has been the Chair of the Scientific Committee since June 2017 and was the previous Vice-Chair in 2015-2017.
