Laboratory of Green Chemistry article approved by esteemed scientific journal
A review article by the LUT Laboratory of Green Chemistry has just been published in scientific journal Coordination Chemistry Reviews.
The review article titled Fate of engineered nanoparticles: Implications in the environment examines the impact of nanoparticles on biotic and abiotic processes. Evaluation of the impacts of exposure to nanoparticles is of great importance, as they are currently used in many different applications e.g. in medical science, electronics and water treatment. In spite of this, relatively little is known about their environmental impacts.
Laboratory researcher Amarendra Dhar Dwivedi, PhD and Professor Mika Sillanpää participated in writing the article. The article was written in cooperation with a South Korean and American research institute.
Coordination Chemistry Reviews' impact factor is considerable at 12,098, and in 2013 the journal was ranked as the top publication in its field of science (Chemistry, Inorganic & Nuclear). The impact factor of an academic journal is a measure reflecting the average number of citations to recent articles published in that journal and depicts the significance of the publication.
Around thirty publications by the Laboratory of Green Chemistry have been ranked in the TOP-25 scientific journal publications. Two of its publications have been ranked among the twenty-five most interesting articles in its field.
