Team of LUT students to TIMES competition world finals

A team of Industrial Engineering and Management students from LUT has made its way to the final of the TIMES (Tournament in Industrial Management and Engineering Skills) case study competition for the first time in the competition's history.

Tea Suuronen, Miika Rantala, Saara Kaikkonen and Toni Greijula travelled to Germany in January to participate in one of the semi-finals and brought home a ticket to the final. The team was the favourite to win and managed to fulfil all expectations by winning the semi-final with a clear margin. This means that the team will compete against seven other teams in the final at the end of March.

The TIMES competition is organised by ESTIEM, the organisation for European Students of Industrial Engineering and Management. More than one thousand students of industrial engineering and management from all over Europe take part in the competition every year. Local qualifications are organised in several countries and the winning teams are granted access to one of the eight semi-finals. The winners of these semi-finals then compete in the final. This year's final will be held in Germany between 23 and 28 March.
