Before Applying

How Many Programmes Can I Apply to?

You may apply to a maximum of

  • 2 different Master's Programmes in Technology (in English)
  • 1 Master's Programme in Business Administration (in English)

The maximum number of applications is considered separately in programmes in English and in Finnish - i.e. the ultimate maximum would be 4 programmes in Technology (2 in English + 2 in Finnish) and 2 in Business Administration (1 in English + 1 in Finnish).

WHEN APPLYING TO 1-2 PROGRAMMES IN TECHNOLOGY (international programmes)

  • Fill in 1 Online Application Form in Technology.
  • Choose the programme/s you are applying to.
  • Upload all the required documents for the programme/s. 
    The required documents are listed on your application form.

WHEN APPLYING TO 1-2 PROGRAMMES IN TECHNOLOGY AND 1 PROGRAMME IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (international programmes)

  • Fill in 1 Online Application Form for Technology.
  • Choose the programme/s you are applying to.
  • Upload all the required documents for the programme/s in Technology.
    The required documents are listed on your application form.
  • Fill in 1 Online Application Form for Business Administration.
  • Choose the programme you are applying to.
  • Upload all the required documents for the programme.
    The required documents are listed on your application form.

Carefully Filling in Your Application Form

If failing to present any information requested on your Online Application Form (previous studies in ECTS credits as requested, indicating/calculating your GPA as requested etc.) - the missing information will not be searched for from your documents and therefore, will NOT be taken into account in the selection process. For example, only the study attainments listed on the Online Application Form and included on the Transcript of Records by the time of submitting the application will be taken into account in the selection process.

When Applying

Application Form for Programmes in Technology
(Link available during Regular Admission)

  • Online Application Form only available during the application period.
  • Use Firefox browser when filling in your Online Application Form.
  • Find first the programme of your interest at our website and enter the Online Application Form through the link above.
    • ...or, find the programme at www.studyinfo.fi > Go to the programme page > Enter the Online Application Form through the link ‘Fill in Application'.
  • Fill in the Online Application Form and upload all the required documents as requested by January 22, 2020 at 15:00 (UTC+2).
    • The application form will be closed at the time of the DL with NO further access to modifications.
  • Supplementary documents (if required) can be uploaded by the supplementary DL of February 5, 2020 at 15:00 (UTC+2).
    • NOTE: If required to mail us the educational documents, this is also the DL for us to receive them by mail.
  • Fill in the exact mailing address that you wish your possible Admission Letter to be mailed to.
    • A current, complete and detailed mailing address is a must for your Admission Letter to reach you.
    • In case of any changes in your mailing address after the Online Application Form is closed, please inform us at admission@lut.fi asap .
       

Uploading the Required Documents

  • Combine all individual pages for each document in the right order for the one document require.
    • PDF and JPEG documents preferred (max. file size 10 MB).
  • Pay attention to all your documents being clearly readable.
     
  • Name your documents clearly.
    • For example, 'Degree Certificate - Bachelor', 'ToR - Bachelor', 'Letter of Motivation'.
  • Upload all the required documents to your Online Application Form/s.
     
  • Submit your Online Application Form after having uploaded all the required documents.
     
  • The final DL for supplementing your Online Application Form with the required documents is February 5, 2020 at 15:00 (UTC+2).
    • It is for your own benefit to upload the required documents as soon as possible as the applications are checked in the order of uploading them.
    • NOTE: If required to mail us the educational documents, this is also the DL for us to receive them by mail.
       

WHEN NOT REQUIRED TO FOLLOW THE COUNTRY-SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS FOR DOCUMENT AUTHENTICATION

  • Degree Certificate (DC) and original Transcript of Records (ToR)
    • A scan for your original DC and original ToR OR
    • An officially certified copy for the original DC and original ToR
      • The officially certified copies have to be certified either by the awarding university or legalised.
        Further information: Required Documents - Document Authentication
  • Official translations in English for the DC and ToR
    • Whenever the original documents are not issued in English, Finnish or Swedish
  • Unofficial copy for your language test result
    • The result will be checked from the test organizer.
      • Remember to make sure that the test organiser provides LUT University with the electronic result.

  • Other required documents
    • All the required documents are listed on the Online Application Form.
    • No official certification required for the non-educational documents.
    • Do NOT upload any additional documents - they will be automatically ignored.

WHEN REQUIRED TO FOLLOW THE COUNTRY-SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS FOR DOCUMENT AUTHENTICATION

  • Degree Certificate (DC) and original Transcript of Records (ToR)
    • An officially certified copy for the original DC and original ToR
      • Certification to be done according to the country-specific requirements for the country where the degree was awarded in.
        Further information: Required Documents - Document Authentication - Country-Specific Requirements
      • NOTE: Whenever an official ToR is required to be mailed to LUT directly from the university, you must upload either a student copy for your ToR or, a scanned copy for your original ToR to your online application form.
  • Official translations in English for the DC and ToR
    • Whenever the original documents are not issued in English, Finnish or Swedish
  • Unofficial copy for your language test result
    • The result will be checked from the test organizer
      • Remember to make sure that the test organiser provides LUT University with the electronic result.

  • Other required documents
    • All the required documents are listed on the Online Application Form.
    • No official certification required for the non-educational documents.

After Having Submitted Your Online Application

  • You will receive an automatic e-mail confirmation from StudyInfo for having submitted your Online Application Form
  • LUT Admissions Services will check your educational documents and your proficiency in English
    • Other documents will only be checked for having been uploaded.
    • Your answers on the application form will not be checked for you.
    • Applications are checked in the order of being submitted.
  • LUT Admissions Services will give you feedback on your application by email through StudyInfo
    • We are dealing with a great number of applications, so an immediate response is unfortunately, not possible.
      Please be patient and wait for us to contact you about your application - additional inquiries will only slow down the process for everybody.
  • If the uploaded documents are NOT accepted or, there are documents missing
    • LUT Admissions Services will e-mail you a detailed request through StudyInfo to supplement your application.
    • You are able to supplement the required documents by February 5, 2020 at 15:00 (UTC+2).
      • NOTE: If required to mail us the educational documents, this is also the DL for us to receive them by mail.
  • If the uploaded documents are accepted
    • LUT Admissions Services will e-mail you a confirmation e-mail through StudyInfo about your application.
       

Mailing the Hard Copies or Not?

WHEN NOT REQUIRED TO FOLLOW THE COUNTRY-SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS FOR DOCUMENT AUTHENTICATION

  • No hard copies to be mailed to LUT Admissions Services


WHEN REQUIRED TO FOLLOW THE COUNTRY-SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS FOR DOCUMENT AUTHENTICATION

  • Hard copies for your educational documents + translations to be mailed by post to LUT Admissions Services asap
    • The officially certified copies for your educational documents and translations must to be the exact same ones that you have uploaded to your application and certified according to the country-specific requirements
    • Official translations for the educational documents (if applicable) must to be the exact same ones that you have uploaded to your application
    • No other documents to be mailed to LUT Admissions Services as they will be automatically ignored.
  • Only one set of educational documents required - even when applying to more than one programme
  • Mailing your documents asap is for your own benefit
    • The sooner we receive them, the better chances you have for supplementing your application, if necessary
  • The ultimate supplementary DL for us to receive the hard copies is February 5, 2020 at 15:00 (UTC+2)

Documents sent by e-mail are not accepted.

  • It is always your responsibility to make sure that the application documents are uploaded and reach LUT University / Admissions Services by mail by the given deadline. Documents arriving after the deadline are simply not accepted.
  • The documents mailed to us will no longer be available for the applicant/student at any point.
