International Marketing Management (MIMM)

Eligibility

Please note that the updated eligibility requirements for 2018-2019 will be published in the beginning of October 2017.

Requirements for Completed Degree

You are eligible to apply to the programme with one the following degrees:

  • Bachelor of Science in Economics and Business Administration, completed in a Finnish university
  • Bachelor of Business Administration, completed in a Finnish University of Applied Sciences, tradenomi (AMK)
  • Lower university degree in the field of Economics/Business Administration, completed in a country other than Finland
    • Provided that the degree gives a qualification for equivalent academic studies in the country in question.
    • The degree must correspond to the Finnish lower university degree (Bachelor's Degree) in Business Administration in the extent (180 ECTS credits) and duration (3-4 years of full-time studies).
    • A minimum of 80 ECTS credits of university level studies in Business Administration* or, studies deemed by the LUT School of Business to be sufficiently corresponding studies is required.
      The completed studies must be composed of at least three different disciplines in Business Administration.
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a field other than Business Administration, completed in a Finnish University
    • A minimum of 24 ECTS credits of university level studies in Business Administration*or, studies ruled by the LUT School of Business and Management to be sufficiently corresponding studies is required
  • Master's Degree, completed in a Finnish University of Applied Sciences
    • A minimum of 24 ECTS credits of university level studies in Business Administration*or, studies ruled by the LUT School of Business and Management to be sufficiently corresponding studies is required

* The following studies are included to be within Business Administration:
Accounting, Marketing, Finance, Management and Organisations, Business Law, Economics, Supply Management, Supply Chain Management, Entrepreneurship, Logistics and Knowledge Management. Studies in Methodology are accepted as well.

University level courses taken in Business Administration and offered by another Business School in another University and not included in the degree may be accepted as well.

Courses however, completed more than 15 years ago will not be considered unless, they are included in the degree.

Note: Applicants having completed a Master's Degree in Economics/Business Administration in a university wordwide, are not eligible to apply.

In case of completing a Master's Degree in Economics/Business Administration before starting your studies at LUT, you are not eligible to apply either.

You may complete a Master's Degree in the field of Business Administration at LUT only once.

Requirements for Previous Programme-Specific Studies

Possibility to Apply as Undergraduate

You are eligible to apply as undergraduate and if admitted, you must

  • Complete your degree by July 31, 2017
  • Mail an officially certified copy of your Degree Certificate and Transcript of Records together with the official translations (if applicable), to LUT Admissions Services in a way that they are received by August 4, 2017 at 15:00 (GMT +2)
    • Degrees completed in certain countries require you to follow the country-specific document requirements for authenticating and/or delivering your educational documents.
    • The authentication and/or the delivery may last even up to 50 days

Requirements for Proficiency in English

Language Test

To be eligible to apply, you are required to submit a language test result as a proof of your proficiency in English.

One of the following language tests in English with at least the minimum score mentioned is required:

NOTE: A language certificate from your home university or any other institution or organisation is not accepted.

Validity for the Language Test

Your language test result has to be valid until the application deadline - if not, you are required to take a new language test as you will not be eligible to apply with an expired language test result.

All the language test results accepted by LUT are valid for two years from the date of taking the test.

When a Language Test Result is not Required?

A language test certificate is not required only, if you have:

  • Completed your degree in English in an EU/EEA country, Australia, Canada, New Zealand or the U.S.A.
    • The fact that the language of education was English must be mentioned on the Degree Certificate, Appendix, Transcript of Records or, on a separate official document provided by the institution of higher education awarding the degree.
    • The degree and studies have to be completed on-site in full in one of the countries mentioned above; it is not enough that you have been issued a degree by a university located in one of the countries listed above.
    • In case of proving the required language skills in English with a different degree apart from the one providing you with the eligibility to apply, please note that the degree is required to have been completed by the application deadline.
  • Completed your degree in Finnish or Swedish in a Finnish University or University of Applied Sciences
    • The fact that the language of education was Finnish or Swedish, must be mentioned on the Degree Certificate, Appendix, Transcript of Records or, on a separate official document provided by the institution of higher education awarding the degree.
    • In case of proving the required language skills with a different degree apart from the one providing you with the eligibility to apply, please note that the degree is required to have been completed by the application deadline.
