Co-ordinated by the University of Helsinki, Kouvola Unit (Palmenia, Sinoa).
Project duration: 2010-2014
An effort was made to ensure that KURKI project operations would further strengthen co-operation between Finnish and Chinese enterprises in Kymenlaakso as well as to find the most suitable fields for co-operation. Opportunities for co-operation were examined, particularly in the areas of the environment and tourism. The primary project target group is Kouvola region enterprises and entrepreneurs.
LUT Kouvola Unit research sections have investigated opportunities, challenges and typical characteristics of the Chinese market in the environmental and tourism sectors, as selected from an enterprise perspective. In addition to this, LUT Kouvola has participated in realising the project's KURKI diploma specialisation programme on Chinese culture, language and business models.
