Dissertation: Tapping experiences of presence to connect people and organizational creativity
We need new ways of thinking and acting to organizational creativity and leadership in the midst of the wicked problems we are currently facing in the world of today. According to the new, multidisciplinary research in the Lappeenranta University of Technology, we can maintain that ability to be present could be a key element in helping us to get answers to the tormenting challenges of humankind.
Virpi Koskela's qualitative dissertation "Tapping experiences of presence to connect people and organizational creativity" focuses on Finnish individual experiences of presence and their connections to organizational creativity. The results indicate that experiences of presence may be seen as the ability to make connections with one's inner and outer nature, as a common space of sharing, as eco-system awareness and, and as more aware leadership.
The main conclusion of the dissertation is that experiences of presence should be taken seriously when seeking new perspectives on organizational creativity and authentic leadership.
Virpi Koskela, Master of Arts, will defend her doctoral dissertation at LUT on the 28th of September at noon, in Lahden musiikkiopisto, Kalevi Aho -hall. Her dissertation is titled Tapping experiences of presence to connect people and organizational creativity. Professor Kai Lehikoinenof Taideyliopisto will act as opponent. Professor Vesa Harmaakorpi of Lappeenranta University of Technology will act as custos.
