1. TRIZ helps to generate (a lot of) new concepts, ...but how to actually choose the best one to invest? We are very excited to announce a one day workshop "Multiple-criteria decision-making (MCDM) and real options" as part of TFC17 program. The scientific chair for the workshop is Prof. Mikael Collan (LUT) who will lead the selection and reviewing of papers submitted for this track.
2. Nano-creativity. Does cutting edge applied physics need any systematic creativity support tools? We plan to have a discussion with physicists in a form of workshop or special track of TFC17. The workshop is a part of EU Horizon 2020 Marie Curie Project INDEED (http://www.indeednetwork.com/).
3. TFC17 will be very student friendly. We plan tutorials, student project demos, competitions and special awards.
Prof Andrei A. Seryi, Director of the John Adams Institute for accelerator science, University of Oxford will present on "Evolution of scientific instruments & methodology of inventiveness in applications to science"
Samuli Kortelainen, post-doctoral researcher at Lappeenranta University of Technology, Finland and CEO and co-founder for SimAnalytics Oy. Big data, simulation models in management, business analytics are his areas that he turns research into profitable service.

We are going to organize scientific and practitioner's tracks at TFC2017.
The scientific contributions should contain new findings in TRIZ and other creativity support methods in the dialog with TRIZ, integration studies on TRIZ and well-documented examples of TRIZ application, reproducible experiments etc. The target audience for this track is research community, scientists as well as practicing experts who are interested in carefully proven findings.
Practitioner's contributions should present some valuable advice for the industry and business, case studies, essays on TRIZ application experience, recommendations, advice based on intensive practice, report on the project etc. The target audience for this track is the community of practitioners, engineers, consultants, teachers, who appreciate your sharing of practical experience and may use it.
All abstracts will be screened by the Scientific Program Committee. The invitation to present the full size paper will be sent to those abstracts that meet the scope of the conference. All submitted papers will be peer-reviewed by scientific and practitioner's reviewer boards.
We have reached the principal agreement with Springer for publishing the selected papers as a stand-alone book of proceedings. Papers, presented at the TFC2016 will be submitted for publication in the book together with the papers of the TFC2017.
Papers not selected for the Springer volume will be published in the Journal of the European TRIZ Association (as double peer reviewed publications).
