Choose a side dish for your exchange studies: languages

In addition to the business and technology courses, students can study language courses at the Language Centre. The centre provides courses at different proficiency levels in Finnish, Swedish, English, German, French, Spanish, Russian and Chinese.

The most popular course among international students is Finnish 1, where no previous knowledge of Finnish is required. Erasmus Intensive Language Courses (EILC) are not offered at LUT.

Beginners' courses are available in all the above languages with the exception of English and Swedish. Language Centre studies do not focus exclusively on grammar – they also place a strong emphasis on multicultural communication. You will find further opportunities for self-study at the Language Centre, where you can practise pronunciation, perform exercises or study online.

When planning your language studies we advise you to use the study guide named Courses for exchange students 2016-17.  A new study guide for languages will be published later. You may update your learning agreement / study plan of your language studies when arriving at LUT.
