Finlandia Hall is a versatile event venue in central Helsinki. It combines architecture, design, functionality and atmosphere in a unique way. Designed by Alvar Aalto, the building is part of the Aalto Works serial nomination proposed by Finland for inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The nomination was submitted in February 2025, with a decision expected in 2026.

Accessibility

All public floors are easily accessible by elevator. The renovated Finlandia Hall includes additional accessible toilets throughout the building. Guide and assistance dogs are welcome.

An accessible entrance to Finlandia Café & Wine is located on the Karamzininranta side, with an elevator providing direct access to the café level.

Sustainability

Sustainability at Finlandia Hall is based on concrete actions and continuous development. Key initiatives include:

  • Use of solar panels to generate environmental friendly energy  
  • Participation in the Töölönlahti Clean-Up Day  
  • Restoration and reuse of original Alvar Aalto furniture  
  • Recycling of broken tableware into new products  
  • Reduction of food waste by selling surplus meals at a reduced price  
  • Annual distribution of 400 complimentary tickets to support young people’s access to arts and culture

Finlandia Hall is ISO-certified, committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2035, and requires responsibility across its entire service and supply chain.
