• How do higher education institutions lead internationalisation and assess its effects?
• How do Finland’s Vision for Higher Education and Research 2040 and changes in global politics shape international activities?

We welcome programme proposals addressing internationalisation strategies, objectives, leadership, resource allocation and the assessment of impact, responsibility and risks, as well as the role of international cooperation and networks in institutional development and long-term goals.

• How do higher education institutions reach international applicants and support students in becoming part of the higher education community and entering working life?
• How do institutions take account of students’ diverse backgrounds, life circumstances and support needs to ensure that everyone has equal opportunities to develop their international competence during their studies?

We welcome programme proposals on responsible student recruitment, applicant communications and the use of artificial intelligence, as well as the integration of international competence into teaching and guidance. Other possible topics include internationalisation at home, multilingual and culturally diverse learning environments, international talent, the identification and use of international competence in working life, regional impact and cooperation with employers.

• How are European cooperation and developments in Europe transforming higher education and study opportunities?

We welcome programme proposals on European Universities alliances, joint degrees, the development of a European degree label and micro-credentials, responsible internationalisation, and risk assessment and management in European cooperation. We also explore international digital, blended and multi-location educational provision involving higher education institutions, as well as solutions to administrative and digital barriers to cooperation.

• How can we develop international mobility to meet the diverse needs of students and staff?

We welcome programme proposals on the development of the Erasmus+ programme, long-term, short-term and blended student mobility for studies and traineeships, staff mobility, environmentally sustainable solutions and the digitalisation of mobility services. Other key topics include removing barriers to participation, accessible services and guidance, and the identification and recognition of competences acquired during mobility. We also explore how shared European and national objectives, recommendations and visions guide the development of mobility. 

• How can we build long-term, reciprocal global partnerships?

We welcome programme proposals on developing global partnerships, education export, and assessing responsibility and risks in cooperation. We also explore equitable cooperation with partners in the Global South, as well as collaboration between education, research, innovation and business to support internationalisation. What benefits does cooperation bring to the different parties, and how can its continuity and impact be ensured?

Network meetings will take place on Monday, May 24, 2027, between 8 am-5 pm. The network chairperson or the meeting convener is responsible for the meeting's communication and inviting participants. Deadline for submitting a network meeting proposal is at the same time as the session proposals. 

We will inquire about interest in organising network meetings when the call for session proposals is launched, tentatively in November 2026. The deadline for submitting the form will be the same as the session proposals'.
