Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology LUT, founded in 1969, is a forerunner in combining technology and business. We seek innovative solutions for clean energy, water, and air through technology, business, and social sciences. LUT’s research is conducted in three schools, School of Business and Management, School of Energy Systems, and School of Engineering Science and our international community consists of approximately 9,000 students and experts in two campuses in Lappeenranta and Lahti.
FinTomo seminar is hosted at Lappeenranta campus situated in the Skinnarila district, approximately 7 km west of Lappeenranta city center.

Lappeenranta is located in southeast Finland, about 220 km from Helsinki by Lake Saimaa. The city is easily accessible by train from all over Finland. Lappeenranta is an international university city of 73 000 inhabitants, and it has twice been chosen as the climate capital of Finland.

How to get to seminar venue
Lappeenranta campus is easily accessible using public transport. Two bus lines (1 & 5 to “Yliopisto”) operate frequently between the city center and the university, campus being the last stop of the trip. If you arrive at the seminar on Thursday morning directly from the train station, bus number 5 departs from the station via the city centre to the university, so you don’t have to change buses.
When you arrive at the seminar, please use the campus’s main entrance at Yliopistonkatu 34, located just a few steps from the bus stop. For more detailed instructions for visitors on the Lappeenranta campus, please see the LUT University’s website.
Bus tickets can be bought directly on the bus by cash or card. Information about Lappeenranta local bus timetables and real-time travel updates can be found on the website of the local bus operator Jouko.
The walk between the city center and the train station is about 20 minutes.
