Instructions for visitors on the Lappeenranta campus

Parking is free of charge in all campus parking areas from 5 May to 30 August.

Parking area P1 is closed from 5 May to 18 August, accessible parking in the inner courtyard.

Visitor parking spaces are available in areas P1 and P9. An additional three visitor spaces are available in area P6. When parking in P1, enter your vehicle registration number on the touch screen at the information desk in LUT's main lobby. If you are parking in P6 or P9, text your registration number to the university porters (tel. 029 44 62669). A parking permit will be issued for your vehicle registration plate. Visitor parking permits are required on weekdays between 8:00 and 15:00. In the evenings and on weekends, parking is unrestricted. In area P8, parking is unrestricted, but P1 and P9  have a two-hour limit and require a parking disc.

Charging outlets for electric cars are available in areas P3 and P6. The eParking application is used for the charging and reserving a parking right. Download the eParking Suomi application from the Google Play store or the AppStore. Local bus numbers 1, 3 and 5 run between the city centre and the university via different routes. The journey takes 20–30 minutes depending on the route. Bus numbers 3 and 5 run to the university from the central bus and railway station (Matkakeskus). You'll find the routes and timetables in the Lappeenranta digital travel guide.

Bus number 5 leaves from the city centre for the university 10 and 40 minutes past the hour. Bus number 1 leaves 15 and 45 minutes past the hour.

From the university to the city centre, bus number 5 leaves on the hour and 30 minutes past the hour. Bus number 1 leaves 15 and 45 minutes past the hour.

Long distance buses to Lappeenranta stop at the central bus and railway station (Matkakeskus), from which the local bus number 5 offers a connection to the university.

VR trains running between Joensuu and Helsinki stop at Lappeenranta. The average journey times are: Helsinki 2 h, Lahti 1 h 10 min, Kouvola 40 min and Joensuu 2 hrs 30 min.

Lappeenranta railway station is located 8 kilometres from the university. Bus numbers 3 and 5 run to the university from the central bus & railway station ("Matkakeskus"). The journey takes 20-30 minutes depending on the route. You'll find the routes and timetables in the digital travel guide.

There's a taxi stand at the railway station, and the local service number is +358 200 60 400.

During the summer season, you can move around in Lappeeranta by Donkey Republic city bikes. One fo the pick-up/drop-off locations is located on LUT campus.

Main entrance is closed from 21 May to 18 August, temporary entrance through the courtyard.

The coat rack is located in the main lobby on the right side of the entrance. Next to it, there are also lockers for storing goods.

Note! Use of the lockers is at the visitor's own risk.

Skinnarila sauna is located next to the university campus, on the shore of Lake Saimaa. The sauna has room for approx. 30 people.
