LUT University was founded in 1969, and the first students in Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM) began their studies in the same year. Today, the IEM department has around 100 staff members across Lappeenranta, Lahti, and Kouvola, and more than 5,000 graduates with a Master of Technology degree.
