Lappeenranta is easy to reach from anywhere in Finland. Highways 6 and 13 run through the city, and the rail connections are good.

The easiest way to reach Lappeenranta from the Helsinki-Vantaa Airport (HEL) or from the Helsinki city centre is by train. Plan your journey.
A local commuter train leaves the airport every 10 minutes. Change at the Tikkurila station for a direct train to Lappeenranta. The journey takes about two hours, and several daily services are available. A single ticket covers the whole journey, including the transfer at Tikkurila.
Multiple direct trains run daily from the Helsinki Central Station to Lappeenranta. The journey takes about two hours.
If your flight arrives after the last train to Lappeenranta (usually around 21:00), Taksi Saimaa offers a shared taxi service from Helsinki-Vantaa to your accommodation in Lappeenranta. This is also a good option if you have an early morning flight and the first train from Lappeenranta cannot get you there on time.
