Dress code

The attire of participants plays an important role and is indicative of the dignified nature of the occasion. Therefore, each event has a detailed dress code for both the promovendi and the guests.

Guests who own a doctoral hat may wear theirs in the conferment ceremony. The guests carry their hats into the auditorium in their left hand, the lyre facing forward, and place it on their head at the same time as the conferrer. In the auditorium, the doctoral hat is donned only when the conferrer gives the signal (i.e., places the hat on their own head), just before the conferment begins.
