I completed my M.Sc. in Industrial Design Engineering at LUT in 2024 as a Fulbright Finland grantee, after a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at Villanova University in the United States. While I was in Lahti, I was a teaching assistant in LUT's School of Energy Systems and wrote my master's thesis with Stalatube, regarding the cross section design of hollow sections. I now work as a Business Analyst at McKinsey & Company in Pittsburgh, mostly on operations and industrial topics (e.g., manufacturing transformations). Before consulting I interned in product design and project management in the US and Italy, and I ran a small product business of my own during my undergraduate degree.
I wanted to become a mentor because LUT and Finland gave me a great deal, and I still think of both as a second home. I remember being an international student figuring out courses, internships, and what comes after graduation, and I would have valued a straightforward conversation with someone a few years further along. I’d be most helpful to discuss career choices, moving between engineering and consulting, and working internationally.
I think that I would be most helpful for Master's students in industrial design, mechanical engineering, or anyone thinking about consulting. I'm based in Pittsburgh, so we would meet online, and I'm used to working across time zones
