I remember how difficult it can be to figure out what you really want to do after graduation and how to take those first steps while you are still at university.
My own background is in international business and marketing management. My career at Metso helped me to expand my expertise in areas such as business development, market research, product management, and branding. Much of my job is about making sense of uncertainty – spotting and analysing opportunities, challenging assumptions, building business cases, pitching ideas, and figuring out how to turn strategy into something people can actually act on.
I applied to become a mentor because I want to give back to the university and support the students. I truly believe in collaboration and talent development, and mentoring feels like a meaningful way to contribute. For me personally, I want to move into the managerial role in the future, so I see this as a great opportunity to develop my skills. I will not pretend to have all the answers, but I am happy to share what I have learned and challenge your thinking.
As a mentee, you do not need to have everything figured out yet. Yet, I would be happy to connect with someone who is interested in business, strategy, marketing, or career development. I appreciate curiosity, initiative, and honest discussion. Expect me to ask questions rather than simply tell you what I think you should do.
Outside work, I enjoy learning new things; playing chess, DnD, and video games; and volunteering at various events. And my own student days are not over yet – I am currently pursuing an engineering degree alongside my work.
