For students writing a thesis

For students who write their theses there is the Thesis room which seats eight people. Thesis is located on the ground floor. In addition, there is one researcher's room for LUT students on the fourth floor. Reservations for these rooms are requested at the Origo service desk.

Thesis writers and researchers can borrow a mobile cart for storing the material they need for their work. The cart can be locked and it can easily be moved around in the Library. Keys for the lockers on the fourth floor in building 7 are also reclaimed at the Origo service desk.

Advice and instructions

Students submit their theses to LUTPub (LUT students) or Theseus (the open repository of the universities of applied sciences).

Advice on the retrieval and evaluation of information is available in the For researchers and Searching for information sections.

Follow the guidelines on citation and layout issued by your faculty or department. Referencing is an essential part of research. It allows the reader to identify the source of each reference. For the thesis guidelines of LUT and Saimaa UAS, see Instructional videos and guides.

LAB Thesis

Students graduating from LAB will publish their work in Open Repository Theseus.

Please follow the thesis guidelines provided by your supervisor. Upload your thesis to Theseus only after when it's fully completed and approved. See the submission page for uploading instructions.

Students are personally responsible for submitting their theses to Theseus and for specifying the usage permissions at the time of submission. Unfortunately the library staff cannot submit theses to the database on behalf of the students.
