Find the library materials

The collections of LUT Academic Library consists of resources in Lappeenranta, Lahti and online.

Databases, e-books and e-journals

The e-materials are mainly used by logging in to Primo search service using the LUT or LAB credentials. The availability and the terms of use of the e-materials can be found in Primo database descriptions and in the Terms of use for e-resources guide.

The walk-in customer outside of LUT or LAB can access the e-materials visiting the library. Access will be opened by the library staff.

Printed books and journals

The printed materials are located in Skinnarila campus in Lappeenranta and in Mukkula campus in Lahti. The printed collection contains books, journals, serial publications and theses.


General collection

The general collection covers the areas of education and research in LUT and LAB. The loan period for general collection is four weeks.

Textbooks and short loans

In Lappeenranta the textbook collection includes literature mentioned in study guides and supportive materials. In Lahti the textbooks of LUT University form a separate collection and the textbooks of LAB University of Applied Sciences are included in the general collection. The loan period for the textbooks is two weeks.

In Lappeenranta one item of textbooks is located in a separate short loan collection. In addition, the short loan collection holds books to support research and methodology. The loan period for these items is one day.


Reference collection

The reference collection includes e.g. dictonaries, statistics and reference books. This material cannot be borrowed.

In Lahti one item of textbooks is located in the reference collection.


In Lappeenranta journals are located in the ground floor except for the latest issues located in the service floor. Journals cannot be borrowed. They can be read only in the library.

In Lahti journals are located in room A126. The loan period for magazines and journals is 14 days, newspapers cannot be borrowed.

Suggest new materials for acquisition


You can suggest materials to be acquired to the LUT Academic Library's collection using the Acquisition proposal form. The materials for schools, projects and for other staff use are ordered using the book orders for staff form. Textbooks are acquired using the textbook order & notification form.
