The platforms bring together expertise from across the three LUT schools – Energy Systems, Engineering Sciences, and Business School – enabling genuinely interdisciplinary approaches to complex sustainability challenges. Through the platforms, LUT fosters collaboration and networking with external partners in academia, industry, and the public sector.
Strategic research platforms are established directly on the four strategic focus areas prioritized by the university. The first two platforms began operations in early 2026, and further two platforms will be launched in 2027. In addition, LUT operates other research platforms in cooperation with companies.
