Arun Gyawali, Master of Science in Forest Ecology and Management, will defend his doctoral dissertation in the field of Energy Engineering at LUT in Mikkeli 12 December 2025 at noon, in the Auditorium of the Mikkeli University Consortium. His dissertation is titled Utilisation of remote sensing, machine learning, and agent-based simulation for biophysical assessment of young boreal forest. Professor Markus Holopainen of University of Helsinki, Finland, will act as opponent. Professor Tapio Ranta of LUT University will act as custos.
