Document verification for students who have applied with a completed degree

1. Send the certified copies by post to LUT University, Lappeenranta Campus 
2. Electronic verification by the awarding university 
3. Electronic verification by an authentic electronic verification service
4. Certification by the Digital and Population Data Services Agency (DVV)  

📌 Carefully go through the given options and follow the instructions for the option that applies to your case. 

Your study place will be automatically cancelled if you do not complete the official document requirements of the admission process. ⚠️ 

This applies if:

• the required documents are not received by mail at the Lappeenranta Campus by the given deadline, or
• electronically verified documents (including the required verification codes/passwords) are not submitted by email by the deadline, or
• the documents do not meet the specified requirements for official certification

You must provide us with the following documents for the degree you applied with:

• Bachelor's Degree Certificate
• Bachelor's Transcript of Records
• Official English translations of the documents 
  if the original language is not English or Swedish

Degree combinations

If your Bachelor's Degree comprises a two-year Bachelor's degree and a two-year Master's degree, you must provide us with verified documents for both degrees.

If your Bachelor's Degree comprises a previous degree and a top-up degree, you only need to provide us with documents for the top-up degree (i.e. the Bachelor's Degree). 

📌 If you applied with a standard (non-combined) Bachelor’s degree as described above, you do not need to submit any Master’s degree documents.

We must receive the verified documents by 

• 31 May 2027 at 15:00 (UTC+3) ⚠️

📌 Documents cannot be delivered to LUT University in person.

Have you completed the degree you applied with in one of the following countries: 
African countries, Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam?

Follow the instructions at 

• countries with country-specific requirements 

📌 This is your only option if electronic verification is not available and you are not residing in Finland with access to DVV verification.

2. Official certification by legalisation

If your university offers an electronic verification service, you may use it to submit your educational documents instead of sending officially certified hard copies by post.

This option is available for degrees completed in any country, provided that the documents include 

• a digital verification element and 
• can be verified by LUT University through an official online verification system.
   

If your documents are visible in the verification system

If your Bachelor’s degree documents are accessible through the verification system, you must provide:

• the verification codes and/or passwords required to access them

If your documents are not visible in the verification system

If your Bachelor’s degree documents are not accessible through the verification system, you must provide:

• copies of the documents containing digital verification elements, and
• the verification codes and/or passwords required to access them

Documents sent by email without a valid electronic verification element, or without the required verification codes/passwords, will not be accepted. ⚠️

We accept electronically verified documents regardless of the country in which the degree was obtained, provided that we can access the verification service using the credentials supplied by the student.

We do not use verification systems that require registration or payment.

Verification through Parchment Digitary Services is preferred whenever possible.

If your Bachelor’s degree documents are available in the verification system, you must provide:

• the verification codes and/or passwords required to access them

If your Bachelor’s degree documents are not accessible in the verification system, you must provide:
