Who is eligible to apply – student exchange
Nomination from your home university is required
You must be nominated by your home university so first step is to contact your local international office, Erasmus coordinator or any other party responsible on student exchange. They are able to tell you whether there is an exchange agreement between your home institution and LUT and what kind of grants would be available to you.
If there is no exchange agreement between LUT and your home university, you may apply as a free mover. Each free mover application is considered case by case so please contact LUT International Services, email@example.com, for more information.
You are expected to have sufficient skills in English language to be able to study at LUT. If English is not your native language, a certificate of your knowledge of English is required.
We accept any of the following documentation to prove your level of English:
- A certificate of competence in English from home institution (CEF level B1 or higher)
- Cambridge English Qualification - CEF level B1 or higher
- IELTS - 6.0
- TOEFL - 80iBT, 550 PBT or 460 ITP
- TOEIC - 730
- PTE Academic - 54
You need relevant engineering or business background/prerequisites to participate in LUT courses. It is highly recommended that you have completed at least 2 years of university studies prior to the exchange period, since the majority of the courses are offered at Master's level (years 4 and 5).
