Welcome to the LUT Alumni Afterwork event in Helsinki Punavuori!
The afterwork event will be held on Thursday, October 1, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. at Pizzeria Via Tribunali. (Pursimiehenkatu 16, Helsinki)
Join us for an evening filled with insights on the opportunities and challenges AI presents for professional landscape. Associate professor Sheraz Ahmed from the LUT School of Business will present the research findings to us about AI in Finance and Decision-Making. Exploring how artificial intelligence is reshaping the way organizations analyze risk, allocate capital, and make strategic choices. Whether you work in finance or simply make data-driven decisions at work, this event is a chance to connect with fellow LUT alumni and discuss what AI means for industries today.
We will also be joined by our special guest, Kuutti Kilpeläinen, recipient of the 2026 Curious Alumni Award. Kuutti is the senior investment manager and head of portfolio at Finnfund, a development finance institution.

Kuutti Kilpeläinen
Impact investor focusing on digital infrastructure and technology investments. In April, Kuutti was selected the third recipient of LUT’s Curious Alumni Award.
Sheraz Ahmed
Associate Professor (Tenure Track) & Director of MSc in Strategic Finance and Analytics at LUT University.
Research interests: International Asset Pricing, Risk Management, Financial Statement Analysis, Corporate Governance, Earnings Management. Additionally, other areas of finance, such as the role of market intermediaries (i.e. stock analysts), capital structure and dividend policy, and time series properties of stock prices within emerging markets, are of prime interest.
