Md Kabir is a Junior Research Assistant in Mechanical Engineering at LUT University and a member of the Mechanics of Advanced Composites (MAC) research group. His work supports the development of lightweight composite materials and structures, with a focus on advanced manufacturing and X-ray computed tomography (XCT)–based microstructure analysis.

He develops reproducible workflows for XCT data processing, microstructure segmentation, and porosity/defect quantification, using deep learning to connect microstructural features to design- and performance-relevant insights. He received his BSc in Mechanical Engineering from IUBAT (Bangladesh) and completed his MSc in Materials Science and Technology at LUT University (Finland), with distinction.

He is open to collaboration on XCT-based analysis, segmentation, dataset curation, and scientific visualization.
