The CruiseFlex project brings together leading industry partners and research institutions to address the evolving demands of the cruise sector, including environmental targets, passenger expectations, and operational efficiency.

The consortium includes the industry partners Meyer Turku, SeaKing, NIT, Kudos, and research partners Åbo Akademi, LAB University of Applied Sciences, Aalto University, University of Turku and LUT University.

Goals

The project aims to develop adaptable public space related solutions that can evolve with changing cruise scenarios, optimize design processes using digital tools to support early-stage innovation and lifecycle continuity, create business models that enable long-term value through retrofits, upgrades, reuse, and service-based solutions, and with this support Finland’s leadership in maritime innovation by delivering scalable, exportable frameworks.
