From Side Streams to Value Streams in the Food Sector-project seeks solutions for utilizing side streams of food sector and identifies technically and economically feasible solutions for utilization.

The results of the project will create new sustainable product development opportunities for SMEs in the food industry and strengthen the expertise of operators and the transfer of research data to education and businesses.

The project is divided into two mutually supportive work packages:

  • WP 1 Utilization of (berry) press cakes as food (XAMK)
  • WP2 Development and research of processing systems (LUT)
