LUT Business School is planning to start a new bachelor’s programme on LUT University's campus in Lahti. The new English-language programme would focus on digital business, and both Finnish and international students would be eligible to apply.
”LUT Business School is set to expand significantly in Lahti. The new programme would allow us to educate business professionals from the bachelor's to the doctoral level. This is a significant development for LUT, the Päijät-Häme region, and to anyone considering business studies,” says Sami Saarenketo, dean of LUT Business School.
The programme would provide students with expertise in areas such as data-driven thinking and strategic understanding of artificial intelligence. If the plans are implemented, 50–75 bachelor’s students would begin their digital business studies in autumn 2026. It may also be possible to establish a related master's programme in Lahti in 2029.
The new programme will be realised if it receives sufficient funding from the City of Lahti, regional companies, and foundations. The decisions will be finalised in spring 2025.
“This new initiative will give companies access to experts and growth opportunities. The international business school can help us enhance our profile as an appealing and interesting university city in Finland," says Niko Kyynäräinen, mayor of the City of Lahti.
