Arome Ibrahim
Biography
I am a Junior Researcher and Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Fellow at LUT University, Finland, concurrently pursuing a Double Degree in the DREAM+PLAN program at RMIT University, Australia.
I hold an Erasmus Mundus Master’s Degree in Impact Entrepreneurship, jointly awarded by the Zagreb School of Economics & Management in Croatia, ISM University of Management and Economics in Lithuania, and HEC Liège Management School in Belgium.
My research interests lie at the intersection of emerging technologies, business models, and innovation ecosystems, with a particular focus on how novel technologies move from early-stage development to commercialization and market creation.
My work is especially aligned with research on Science-Based, ReGenTech, DeepTech, and Extended Reality (XR), as these fields raise important questions about technology management, business model innovation, and ecosystem formation. I am particularly interested in how emerging technology ventures develop sustainable and regenerative business models, collaborate across innovation ecosystems, and create new forms of value to address complex societal and environmental challenges.
Prior to my academic career, I founded an award-winning emerging technology company specializing in Virtual and Augmented Reality, which received multiple grants and recognitions. I also led Immersive Tech Africa, an initiative focused on expanding access to Extended Reality (XR) and Artificial Intelligence across Africa.
My interdisciplinary experience spans Nigeria, Croatia, Lithuania, Belgium, Finland, and Australia. With more than seven years of experience as a facilitator and mentor in entrepreneurship and innovation programs, including the Mercedes-Benz Fellowship, Global Startup Awards, AI Forge UK, NASA GLOBE Symposium, Reimagine Education Awards, Games for Change, and Startup Grind, I have developed strong expertise in supporting the next generation of impact entrepreneurs.
I currently serve as a team member of the LUTES FORWARD Accelerator, host the ReGen Rhythm Podcast, act as the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program Lead for LUT Storming, co-lead the LUT/LAB Virtual Worlds Community, and serve as a student representative at the Nordic Research School in Innovation and Entrepreneurship (NORSI).
