Biography

I'm a social scientist working on various energy-related research, with a main focus being on sustainable energy transition. My research interests include the societal impact on renewable energy that takes into account planetary boundaries, challenges and support for emerging energy communities, and path dependency and path break-out in the electricity sector in Europe. I'm leading a multidisciplinary research group on Energy & Society, where we do research on women energy entrepreneurs in the Global South, socio-cultural framing of novel technology, modeling vulnerabilities of energy systems change, identifying and modeling system/sector interlinkages on energy, food and mobility, shaping of energy systems by the energy elite, and decarbonizing energy systems. I'm co-teaching a Master's level course in Energy & Society, and a PhD student-level course on Energy & Humanity. Students in both courses have multidisciplinary backgrounds.
