Teemu Hiltunen

Biography
I am Teemu Hiltunen, and I work as researcher in the electrification of heavy-duty transport at LUT University. My work focuses especially on how Finland’s varying weather conditions affect the energy consumption of electric truck combinations.
I specialize in cost optimization of electric trucks’ battery sizes and charging infrastructure across different routes. The goal is to find solutions that enable a cost-efficient and environmentally sustainable transition to low-emission transport.
I am involved in the Accelerating Climate Solutions (ACE) project, which aims to reduce emissions from Finland’s transport sector. The project supports the goals of the EU LIFE programme by strengthening expertise, promoting investments, and developing, piloting, and disseminating innovative climate change mitigation solutions. It builds a knowledge base and shares best practices to support the wider uptake of climate actions.
