Packaging Technology

The research group of Packaging Technology combines manufacturing and material know-how, especially related to renewable fibre-based packaging materials and their converting. The research group is actively cooperating with academic and industrial partners in Finland and internationally.

Research areas

The research of LUT Packaging Technology focuses especially on converting and manufacturing of sustainable packaging solutions and the related machinery, processes and tooling. Research topics include packaging material converting, especially fibre-based packaging materials and bio-based coatings, and their converting into packages.
