The Bachelor's Programme in Chemical and Process Engineering leads to the degree of Bachelor of Science in Technology, B.Sc. (Tech.), which is 180 ECTS credits.

  • Practical laboratory exercises and industrial-scale applications will teach you about design processes and equipment using modern simulation tools. 
  • You will gain experience in managing product development, operational tasks, process safety and quality control. 
  • The core of the studies includes common chemical industry processes, especially separation methods and process design. 
  • You will dive into the basics of chemistry, natural sciences, and technology and basic chemical and process engineering phenomena. 
  • You will learn about chemical reactions, changes in the state of substances, mixing and flows, and the most common analysis and measurement methods in process development. 
  • The studies cover the role of chemical and process engineering in green energy production, energy storage, biomass and raw material utilisation, the recovery of metals and minerals, water purification, and food industry processes. 
  • The programme builds a strong foundation in natural sciences to create circular economy solutions and ensure the sustainable use of natural resources.

Continue your studies in a master's programme

After completing a bachelor's degree in chemical and process engineering, you can continue your studies in one of LUT’s master's programmes in chemical engineering. Each programme is 120 ECTS credits, and you will graduate within two academic years.
