Lappeenranta Academic Library is a public specialist library serving the Lappeenranta University of Technology and Saimaa University of Applied Sciences, as well as businesses and the general public.

The main library facility is located at the Skinnarila campus in Lappeenranta. In addition, the library has a branch at the Linnala campus of the Saimaa University of Applied Sciences in Imatra. Collections can be accessed by all registered customers and new customers are required to fill in the customer information form. You must bring identification when getting your library card. Library customers will be given a separate library card.

The Finna Search Services of Lappeenranta Academic Library provides information about the titles in stock and their availability. Renewals and reservations can also be made via Finna (registered customers only).

Loan periods vary depending on the type of collection:

  • short loans: 1 day
  • videos and DVDs: 1 week
  • text books and theses: 2 weeks
  • general collection, series, and audio-visual material: 4 weeks
  • journals: not available for loan

Overdue loans are subject to fines. The fines for overdue loans and lost or damaged titles can be checked on Lappeenranta Academic Library price list. Overdue fines are payable on Finna via Finnish online banks or by using international credit cards. Other fines than overdue fines must to be paid at the library's customer service desk using a payment card.

If you are looking for materials that are not stocked in the collections of Lappeenranta Academic Library, you can order the materials via the interlibrary lending service. The interlibrary lending service is subject to a fee based on the price list.
