Welcome to the LUT Alumni Afterwork event in Helsinki after a few years' break!
In addition to networking, the afterwork event will provide an opportunity to update your knowledge with the latest news from LUT's energy report. The afterwork event will be held on Wednesday, 30 October, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM in the cellar of Restaurant Kappeli.
Alumni Afterwork events are relaxed and free networking opportunities for all our alumni, regardless of their degree program. We organize these events in different cities across Finland where our alumni are located.

- 5:15 PM Welcome words and LUT news, Petri Ajo
- 5:20 PM Presentation on the key messages of the LUT Energy Report, Eeva-Lotta Apajalahti and Hanna Paulomäki
Functionality of energy systems: What factors are involved in energy security? Are the electricity markets up-to-date and functioning? And what new sustainability risks arise from the energy transition?
- 5:40 PM Free socializing and networking with drinks and light snacks

Speakers:
Eeva-Lotta Apajalahti
Assistant Professor (LUT School of Energy Systems) Eeva-Lotta Apajalahti is a social scientist working in energy research. She has a broad interest in various research perspectives, including sustainability transitions, innovations and organizations, social practices, path dependency and breakthroughs, cultural frameworks, the power and resources of large energy companies, challenges for energy communities, and the social impacts of renewable energy.
Hanna Paulomäki
Junior Researcher Hanna Paulomäki (LUT School of Energy Systems) is pursuing a Ph.D. on the socio-ecological impacts of energy transitions due to land use changes. She is a graduate engineer from the University of Helsinki, specializing in ecology, environmental biology, and environmental law. Hanna is strongly driven by a commitment to achieving concrete results and influencing policy changes based on scientific evidence.
Petri Ajo
LUT's Chief Growth Officer and Doctor of Science (Tech.) Petri Ajo is a scientist, engineer, and visionary with boundless enthusiasm and curiosity. He has worked in consulting, academia, and industry, with a brief stint as an entrepreneur. Petri's technical background is in environmental and chemical engineering. Most of his career has been in management, where his leadership skills excel in strategic roles.
