The purpose of the RAKUUNA project is to strengthen the vitality of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the metal industry within the South Karelia region. Vitality is increased by developing company processes and systems through de minimis measures, and by demonstrating the benefits of systems, equipment, and other investments through practical examples.
The broader goal is to enhance the vitality of the South Karelia region by improving the competitiveness and cost-efficiency of companies. As cost-efficiency improves, companies perform better in competitive bidding, which increases order volumes and the need for labor, thereby creating new jobs in the region.
The goal of the project is to enhance the competitiveness and profitability of welding machine shops in the South Karelia region through networking, digitalization, automation, process development, quality management, and standards. Networking aims to increase companies’ collaboration potential and openness in information sharing through events and workshops. Through cooperation and knowledge sharing, the objective is to promote specialization and boost the subcontracting and production potential of the South Karelia region.
To minimize human error, the project’s main theme is increasing the level of automation and improving the utilization of welding processes. Raising the level of automation is crucial, as it reduces the need for manual labor and enables more efficient production while saving costs.
