General requirements

You are eligible to apply through Rolling admission if

you have completed an upper secondary degree outside of Finland
you will complete an upper secondary degree outside of Finland by 31 August 2027

that gives you the eligibility for corresponding university studies in your home country.

Information and guidance on entry requirements for international (non-EU/non-EEA) students

Applicant needs to either meet the set GPA requirements or OMPT/SAT/ACT requirement to be eligible for admission.

Upper secondary qualifications completed in Afghanistan provide general eligibility to apply for Bachelor's programmes. However, as the qualifications cannot be reliably verified, they do not provide direct eligibility for admission. Applicants with these qualifications are therefore required to provide an accepted standardized test, such as SAT, ACT or OMPT.

You must achieve at least a grade of 60% in the test to be eligible for admission.

All test results accepted by LUT University are valid for one year from the date of taking the test.

How do I know if I need to take a test?

If your mathematics curriculum was deemed insufficient, your grades did not meet the requirements or if you did not study mathematics during your upper secondary degree; you need to do the test.

Registration

For exam registration, please visit the OMPT website, select 'LUT University' as the institution, and then choose the programme of your choice. Keep in mind that you are required to schedule the test at least 3 days in advance and it can take up to 5 working days before you receive the exam results, so plan accordingly because you need to have the results by the time you apply.

Number of attempts
LUT University allows for a maximum of two (2) attempts. Results from a third attempt will not be accepted.

Applicants with a relevant degree on the upper secondary level of education are all able to apply to Bachelor's Programmes in English with a SAT test (Suite of Assesments Test).

When applying with a SAT test, there is no additional requirement for proving your proficiency in English or your advanced mathematics skills in any other way.

Verifying your SAT results

LUT University only accepts your SAT test scores if an official score report is received directly from the test organizer College Board. When proving your English-language skills via SAT scores, you will need to submit the results via College Board.

To get your test results submitted to LUT University, please choose LUT University as a score recipient when registering for the SAT tests – the institutional code required is 7603.

If not having chosen LUT University as a score recipient while registering for the test or, applying with earlier test results and wish to make them available to LUT University, you need to order additional SAT Score Reports.
