Maud Reveilhac

Biography
Dr. Maud Reveilhac is Assistant Professor (tenure-track) in Digital Social Science at the LUT School of Engineering Sciences. She joined LUT University in March 2025, bringing expertise in computational social science, survey methodology, and digital media research to support interdisciplinary teaching and research.
Before joining LUT, Maud was a Senior Research and Teaching Associate at the Department of Communication and Media Research (IKMZ) at the University of Zurich. She holds a PhD in Social Sciences from the University of Lausanne, where her dissertation explored the integration of social media data into public opinion research, critically examining the shifting role of traditional survey methods. Her work was awarded the Prix de la Faculté 2023 by the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences.
Her research focuses on the intersection of digital technologies and public discourse, including the implications of large language models for democracy and citizen information. She has extensive experience in empirical social science research, with a particular interest in computational methods and digital communication.
Since 2023, she has served as scientific coordinator of the Swiss News Viz Media Lab at the Digital Society Initiative of the University of Zurich. She has also contributed to projects within the University Research Priority Program (URPP) Digital Religion(s) and continues to collaborate internationally on issues related to public opinion and emerging data.
In addition to her research, Dr. Reveilhac has been recognized for her teaching excellence, receiving the 2024 Best Teaching Award at IKMZ for her Master's course on Multivariate Statistics.
