Country-Specific Document Requirements
for Document Authentication

Whenever the degree you are applying with has been awarded in a country listed below, you must pay special attention to the documentation before uploading them to your online application form and mailing them to LUT University, as there are special requirements included.

Remember to start the verification process as soon as possible, considering the processing time and the national holidays. There will be no exceptions made to the following requirements or the dates for providing the documents as requested.

All African Countries

If your degree has been/will be awarded in any of the African countries

Transcript of Records (ToR)
An official ToR must be mailed to LUT University / Admissions Services directly by the awarding university in an envelope sealed with an official stamp of the university across the back flap, while generic stamps like "sealed" are not accepted. The ToR must be certified with an original stamp of the institution and an original signature of the certifying officer. An officially certified copy for the original ToR mailed by the university will not be accepted as the ToR must be an official one.

In addition, you must upload either a student copy of your ToR or, a scanned copy for your official ToR to your online application form.

Degree Certificate (DC)
The copy for the DC must be either officially certified by the awarding university or legalised. For detailed instructions, please see the previous page Document Authentication.

If the original documents are not issued in English, official translations must be submitted as well.

Bangladesh

If your degree has been/will be awarded in Bangladesh

Degree Certificate (DC) and Transcript of Records (ToR)
The copies for your DC and ToR must be officially certified by the Consular and Welfare Wing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh. Every non-blank side of each page for all the copies must carry the original verification stamp and signature of an official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh.

Both the DC and ToR must be awarded by the main university or a college with the degree-awarding status. Documents awarded by affiliated colleges are not accepted.

If the original documents are not issued in English, official translations must be submitted as well.

China

If your degree has been/will be awarded in China

One of the following methods must be followed for document authentication.

OPTION 1

Degree Certificate (DC) and Transcript of Records (ToR):
The copies for your DC and ToR must be officially certified by Notary Public and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in China. Please find a list for agencies offering Diplomatic Notary Services – some of them are offering both local and Diplomatic Notary Services.

If the original documents are not issued in English, official translations must be submitted as well.

OPTION 2

Degree Certificate (DC):
The copy for your DC must be officially certified with the original stamp of the awarding university and an original signature of the certifying officer.

In addition, you must submit your DC to one of the following

  • CDGDC (China Academic Degree and Graduate Education Development Center)
  • CHESICC (China Higher Education Student Information and Career Center)

for verification and request the organisation to e-mail their verification report for your DC in English to LUT Admissions Services at admission@lut.fi.

Transcript of Records (ToR):
The copy for your ToR must be officially certified with the original stamp of the awarding university and an original signature of the certifying officer.

In addition, you must submit your ToR to

  • CHESICC (China Higher Education Student Information and Career Center)

for verification and request CHESICC to e-mail their verification report for your ToR in English to LUT University / Admissions Services at admission@lut.fi.

If the original documents are not issued in English, official translations must be submitted as well.

India

If your degree has been/will be awarded in India

Transcript of Records (ToR)
An official ToR must be mailed to LUT University / Admissions Services directly by the awarding university in an envelope sealed with an official stamp of the university across the back flap, while generic stamps like "sealed" are not accepted. The ToR must be certified with an original stamp of the institution and an original signature of the certifying officer.

If the university does not re-issue an official ToR, a copy for the original one must be officially certified either by the Controller of Examinations or the Registrar's Office at the university and placed in an envelope sealed with an official stamp of the university across the back flap, while generic stamps like "sealed" are not accepted. You may mail this sealed envelope to LUT University / Admissions Services with the rest of your application documents without breaking the seal.

The ToR may be awarded either by the main university or college (autonomous or affiliated).

Degree Certificate (DC)
The copy for the DC has to be either officially certified by the awarding university or legalised. For detailed instructions, please see the previous page Document Authentication.

The DC must always be awarded by the main university while DC awarded by an affiliated college will not be accepted.

If the original documents are not issued in English, official translations must be submitted as well.

If your degree has been/will be awarded in Indonesia

Iran

If your degree has been/will be awarded in Iran

Degree Certificate (DC) and Transcript of Records (ToR)
Official translations for DC and ToR must be certified by the Ministry of Justice.

Copies certified by the Ministry of Justice must be legalised by the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Finnish Embassy in Tehran. All these copies must have the original stamp given by the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Finnish Embassy in Tehran while copies for these documents – even if officially certified – are not accepted.

Nepal

If your degree has been/will be awarded in Nepal

Transcript of Records (ToR)
An official ToR (Transcript, Mark Sheet or Result Card) must be mailed to LUT University / Admissions Services directly by the awarding university in an envelope sealed with an official stamp of the university across the back flap, while generic stamps like "sealed" are not accepted. The ToR must be certified with an original stamp of the institution and an original signature of the certifying officer.

If the university is not able to mail LUT University an official ToR, a copy for the original, officially certified either by the Controller of Examinations or the Registrar's Office at the university must be placed in a sealed envelope. You may mail LUT University / Admissions Services the sealed envelope yourself with the rest of your application documents without breaking the seal.

The ToR (Transcript, Mark Sheet or Result Card) must always be awarded by the main university or college with the degree-awarding status. Documents awarded by affiliated colleges are not accepted.

Pakistan

If your degree has been/will be awarded in Pakistan

Degree Certificate (DC) and Transcript of Records (ToR)
Copies taken for the original DC and ToR must be certified by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) in Pakistan. Every non-blank side of each page for all the copies must carry the original attestation stamp and signature of an HEC official. Copies for these HEC attested copies are not accepted.

Both the DC and the ToR must be awarded by the main university or college with the degree-awarding status while documents awarded by an affiliated college will not be accepted.

Copies for educational documents certified by HEC before September 20, 2009 are not accepted as the copies must be verifiable from the HEC online service.

If the original documents are not issued in English, official translations must be submitted as well.

Admissions Services
