Scholarships and Tuition Fees


Tuition Fee

Citizens of EU/EEA Countries and Switzerland

Higher education taught in a language other than Finnish or Swedish - the international Master's Programmes when concerning LUT - is FREE for nationalities within

  • The European Union (EU)
  • The European Economic Area (EEA)
  • Switzerland
    • To prove your citizenship, you are required to enclose a copy of your valid passport or national ID card where your citizenship is indicated.
       

Citizens of Non-EU/EEA Countries

Citizens of a country outside the EU/EEA (excluding Switzerland) are REQUIRED TO PAY TUITION FEES.

The LUT Tuition Fee for all the Master's programmes is

  • EUR 10 000 per each academic year
     

YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO PAY TUITION FEE IF YOU ARE:

  • Non-EU/EEA citizen having a Permanent Residence Permit Card in Finland (P)
  • Non-EU/EEA citizen having a Long-Term Resident's EU Residence Permit Card in Finland (P-EU)
  • Non-EU/EEA citizen having a Fixed-Term Continuous Residence Permit Card in Finland (A)
  • Non-EU/EEA citizen having an EU Family Member's Residence Card in Finland
  • Non-EU/EEA citizen having an EU Blue Card in Finland
    • Your residence permit card or residence card has to be granted by The Finnish Immigration Service
    • If having a residence permit card or residence card in Finland, you are required to enclose a copy of the card to your application
       

YOU ARE MOST LIKELY NOT TO PAY TUITION FEE IF YOU ARE:

  • Non-EU/EEA citizen but married to a Finnish citizen
  • Non-EU/EEA citizen but a family member to EU/EEA citizen having a right to reside in Finland
    • Your residence (permit) card or residence card has to be granted by The Finnish Immigration Service
    • If having a residence (permit) card in Finland, you are required to enclose a copy of the card to your application

Scholarships

There are no scholarships available for the first academic year.

For the second academic year, when having a nationality of a non-EU/EEA country (excluding Switzerland) and required to pay a tuition fee, you are able to apply for a 100% Tuition Fee Scholarship under the following conditions:

  • If successfully having completed a minimum of 60 ECTS credits of studies included in your degree structure and study plan during the first academic year with the minimum GPA of 4.25 on the scale of 1.00-5.00.
    • The credits have to be included in your Transcript of Records by the end of the academic year i.e. by July 31 at the latest.
    • The studies for all students will be monitored each semester.
