Where can I find information on the Master's programmes offered by LUT University?

How many Master's Programmes can I apply to at LUT University?
You can apply to a maximum of 2 Master's Programmes in Technology (in English) and 1 LUT Master's Programme in Business Administration (in English), given that you are eligible to apply to the programmes. The maximum numbers of programmes to be applied to are the same for the programmes in Finnish. For example, if a student with appropriate language skills in Finnish is able to apply to programmes in Finnish, s/he is able to apply to 2 + 2 programmes in Technology.
Is there an application fee?
There is no application fee for any of the Master's Programmes offered by LUT University.
Is there a tuition fee?
All the Finnish universities in higher education must have a tuition fee for all the programmes that are not taught in Finnish or Swedish - this was a national decision that all the universities must follow. For the Master's Programmes at LUT University the tuition fee is EUR 10 000 per each academic year.
Are there any scholarships available?
Most of the Master's Programmes are offering a limited number of Tuition Fee Waivers for applicants required to pay a tuition fee. There are however, a few programmes that do not offer any Tuition Fee Waivers for the first academic year. For more information, please see Scholarships and Tuition Fee.

I am studying in a university in my home country. Can I transfer to LUT University?
It is not possible to just transfer to LUT University from your home university. You must apply to the Master's Programme/s and get admitted to start the LUT programme from the beginning as anybody else.

Do I need to have a Bachelor's Degree to be eligible to apply to a Master's Programmes?
You must in general, have a Bachelor's Degree in the same or closely related field of study compared to the Master's Programme that you are applying to. For some programmes and under certain circumstances, it is possible to also apply with a Bachelor's Degree completed in another field of study - and there may also be additional requirements for these applicants. A minimum requirement for programme-specific studies is also required for most of the Master's Programmes. Can I apply as undergraduate? I will be graduating and having my Bachelor's Degree Certificate after the application deadline.
In case of not having been graduated yet, you are eligible to apply, but you must graduate by August 31, 2021 at the latest and be able to e-mail us a scan for your original Degree Certificate and Transcript of Records to LUT Admissions Services by e-mail by August 31, 2021 at 15:00 (UTC+3). If the original documents are not in English, you must also e-mail the scans for the official translations to LUT Admissions Services by September 6, 2021 at 15:00 (UTC+3).
I have completed a Higher National Diploma (HND) / Higher National Certificate (HNC). Can I apply to Master's Programmes?
Qualifications Higher National Diploma (HND) and Higher National certificate (HNC) do not provide you with eligibility to the LUT Master's Programmes. If you have upgraded your HND/HNC to a Bachelor's Degree, then the Bachelor's Degree plus the previous degrees completed together provide you with eligibility to apply to the LUT Master's Programmes. In such case, you need to submit your Degree Certificate and Transcript of Records for both your HND/HNC and your Bachelor's Degree in order to prove us your eligibility. If the HND/HNC and Bachelor's Degree were completed in different countries, there may also be different country specific requirements to be followed regarding to document authentication after possibly having been admitted and accepted the place.
Is there a GMAT Exam / GRE Test requirement for the LUT Master's Programmes?
In Regular Admission, GMAT Exam or GRE General Test is only required when applying to the Master's Programmes in Business Administration with a degree that is not completed in a field of Business Administration or Economics.
Is there a minimum requirement for the GPA for my degree?
There are programmes with a minimum requirement for the arithmetic GPA; please check the sites "Eligibility" and "Admissions Criteria and Selection" for the programme that you are applying to. In every programme, the GPA is one element for getting points in the selection process.
I do not meet with all the eligibility requirements, but I have relevant work experience. Can I get admitted?
No, you cannot get admitted if not meeting with the eligibility requirements. Furthermore, only eligible applications go forward to academic evaluation.
The language of instruction in my university is English. Do I still need to take a language test?
You must always take one of the accepted language tests with the minimum required score unless, you have completed your Bachelor's/Master's Degree in English in an EU/EEA country or in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Switzerland, the United Kingdom or the United States of America – or, if you have completed your degree in Finnish or in Swedish in a Finnish University or University of Applied Sciences.
My language test score is below the minimum requirement. Can I still apply?
You are not eligible to apply with a language test score that is below the minimum requirement. Only eligible applications go forward to academic evaluation.
There are no language tests available before the application deadline. Can I get conditionally admitted and send the language test result later?
You cannot get conditionally admitted with a missing language test result, as your application would in this case, remain an incomplete one and not be forwarded to academic evaluation.
Do you require the electronic test result for the language test result?
Yes, we must be able to electronically verify your accepted language test result from the test organisation's database by the supplementary DL - otherwise, the result cannot be accepted. Test results provided by e-mail are not accepted. More information on Required Documents > Language Test Results.
What documents do I need to submit?
There are certain documents that are required for each programme and there may also be additional documents required for certain programmes. Please find the programme-specific information on the page "Required Documents" for each programme starting at Apply to LUT University – Master's Studies.
How do I certify my educational documents?
At the time of applying, you do not have to officially certify your educational documents, regardless of the country where the degree was completed in. You will only upload the scans for your original Degree Certificate and Transcript of Records. If admitted and accepted the place offered, you must be able to provide us with your graduation documents - and depending on the country where the degree was completed in, the ways of the possibly required certification and the way of providing us with the documents may vary. My university does not use ECTS credit system. How do I convert my studies into ECTS credits?
You must convert your credits according to the following instruction: 1 ECTS credit = an average workload of 27 hours (including lectures, assignments, etc.). You are responsible for presenting the required studies as a list of individual courses in ECTS credits on your Online Application Form. No preliminary statements or examples will be given on converting the ECTS credits in advance.
When is the application period for the Master's Programmes offered by LUT University?
The application period is December 1, 2020 - January 20, 2021 at 15:00 (UTC+2).
I missed the application deadline. Can my application still be considered?
Your application will not be processed if not submitted by the application DL. If having missed the DL for the Regular Admission, you may wish to consider applying through Rolling Admission, while the application DL being May 31, 2021.
