LUT University is a public university in Finland, providing education in the fields of technology, business and social sciences. Our international community consists of 7 500 members of more than 90 different nationalities, engaged in scientific research and academic education.

Exchange studies
Unforgettable exchange experience
LUT University welcomes every year around 200 exchange students to its Lappeenranta campus located by beautiful Lake Saimaa only two-hour train ride away from the capital Helsinki. Starting from the Autumn semester 2025, LUT University has also offered exchange studies for selected study fields at the Lahti campus, even closer to the capital area.
The international student community at LUT University is strong and there are plenty of cultural theme nights, parties and all sorts of get-togethers organized. For instance, the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) is active both in Lappeenranta and Lahti.
LUT offers for exchange students a wide variety of courses taught in English in the fields of business, technology and social sciences. You can find our course offer for exchange students here.

Double Degree co-operation
LUT University has several double degree agreements which allows deeper educational cooperation with those partner universities. Double degree partners are usually long term partnerships which have started with regular student mobility, and then developed into double degree cooperation.
LUT encourages students to complete their degree by a double degree in a partner university to further develop their professional and personal skills. LUT welcomes annually many double degree students from its double degree partners.
Currently LUT has double degree programmes with partner universities from China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, The Netherlands and The United States of America.
All degree programmes which are taught in English at LUT are open for new double degree proposals.

Summer School
LUT Summer School offers a unique opportunity to study university-level courses that provide valuable, up-to-date knowledge in a compact format during summertime. Summer School is a short-term exchange experience for students who are eager to learn, challenge themselves, and connect with other curious minds from around the world. During the 1–2 week program, participants not only gain academic insights but also enjoy the beauty of Finnish summer and the vibrant city life of Lappeenranta.
The courses cover a wide range of themes and teaching methods. Start your studies remotely from your home campus and join us for one or two weeks of on-site learning at LUT University's Lappeenranta campus.
