Internationalisation incorporated in research and education
Education
Universities traditionally focus on research and education. This is also the case at LUT. The university's world-class research provides students with the latest information in their field and guarantees current knowledge when they enter the world of work. LUT graduates are equipped with capabilities to enhance their knowledge base in an ever-changing professional environment.
The Global Climate Research Prize
The Global Climate Research Prize (GCRP) is a new international biennial award supporting researchers whose published work offers transformative and transboundary insights capable of advancing climate solutions within the coming decade.
Established jointly by Clare Hall at the University of Cambridge and LUT University, the GCRP showcases and supports research with the strongest potential to address urgent climate-driven challenges worldwide.
The System Earth Collegium
The System Earth Collegium (SEC) is a groundbreaking, long-term initiative designed to tackle the world's most challenging and complex menaces, such as climate change and diversity loss, freshwater scarcity, and energy crises.
Conventional policies and practices often nourish incremental progress and swift publication rather than risking for the radical innovations. The SEC aims to complement this paradigm by cultivating a new culture of scientific inquiry.
International Associations and Networks
LUT is a member of several international associations and networks. European University Association (EUA), Top International Managers in Engineering (T.I.M.E. Association) and Network of the Rectors and Deans of the Technical Universities in the five Nordic countries (NORDTEK) are among the most important ones.
