Six high-quality Bachelor’s programmes in English

The new Bachelor's Programme in Industrial Engineering and Management provides essential knowledge and capabilities to become an expert in combining business and technology. The programme increases understanding of organisations' business, operations, and personnel in a contemporary business environment.

The Bachelor’s programmes are arranged on LUT’s campus either in Lappeenranta or Lahti. In addition, four of the programmes – Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, Mechanical Engineering, and Software and Systems Engineering – are carried out in cooperation with LUT’s partner university in China, Hebei University of Technology (double degree programmes).

LUT starts teaching social sciences

LUT University will start degree programmes in social and behavioural sciences and communication and information sciences in autumn 2023.

Electric Transportation Systems – a new Master’s programme

LUT University has established Finland's first electric transportation professorship in Lahti. Its aim is to harness the most recent research data for corporate use.

"A significant reform in electrical engineering and electric transportation systems is only starting.  The university's mission is to ensure that Finland has enough research and education based expertise in electric transportation systems," says Dean Olli Pyrhönen of LUT University

LUT Business School receives AACSB accreditation

The LUT Business School has been awarded an internationally acclaimed five-year AACSB accreditation. The accreditation covers the school’s full programme portfolio. The recognition reflects the high quality of education and research in the field of economics and business administration.

Dean Sami Saarenketo thinks that the accreditation is perhaps the most important milestone on the way to a top international ranking for business schools. "I am proud of our joint achievement and would like to thank our staff, students, alumni, stakeholders and supporters. This recognition will drive our Business School towards even more excellent results in the future," Saarenketo says.

LUT is a member of several international associations and networks on different themes in education and research. LUT also has an office in Brussels. The aim of the office is to enable LUT to operate as a member of different associations, improve LUT's already existing networks and find new ones, increase LUT's international visibility, influence future framework programmes, and increase LUT's external funding.
