Mirja Mikkilä

Biography
Mirja Mikkilä works as Associate Professor at the Department of Sustainability Science at Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology. She holds an adjunct professor positions both at LUT University (Forest-based bioeconomy and related circular economy), and the University of Helsinki (Forest economics and marketing of forest products). Her expertise covers corporate responsibility and sustainability, environmental economics, natural resource economics, qualitative and quantitative analysis of sustainability, sustainable system, sustainable transition of bioeconomy system. She has published over 60 peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters and conference proceedings. Her 15 years’ working experience within international natural resource consulting, and pulp and paper industry operations on four continents, Africa, Asia, Europe and South America.
