LBM 30 years
LUT School of Business and Management (LBM) celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2021. As if to honour the anniversary year, a record number of Master's degrees, 266, were completed at LBM in 2020. It is the highest number in the School's history.
In total, 1,824 Bachelor's degrees, 3,768 Master's degrees, 20 Licentiates and 129 Doctorates have been completed at LBM over 30 years. But LBM is not just numbers. Dean Sami Saarenketo says that the LBM community is close and humane.
"We have a work community of hundreds of top professionals, and together with our students, we also have a desire to make the world a better place for future generations through science and education," Saarenketo describes.
According to Saarenketo, the core of LBM's operations lies in responsible business renewal.
"The essential point is that we are a business school within a university of technology. Our graduates have excellent working life skills, and the employment rate among our students is very high. We train makers of the future who think responsibly and ethically to the service of the economy."
Saarenketo points out that in 30 years LBM has established itself among the top 200 business schools in the world.
In honour of the anniversary year, we will allow both the former and present LBM staff and alumni their own story and their best memories from along the way. More interviews will be published throughout the anniversary year.
