Degree structures and studies

The Master's Programme in Supply Management is a two-year programme. It leads to the degree of Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration, M. Sc. (Econ. & Bus. Admin.), which is 120 ECTS credits.

The studies connect two perspectives: the internal viewpoint of organising and aligning supply management according to the firm's strategy, and the external viewpoint consisting of supplier relationships and supply network management.

The programme includes core, advanced specialisation, minor and language studies. Obligatory core and advanced specialisation courses can be completed during the first study year.

Core studies, 42  ECTS credits, include courses on strategic supply management and supply chain financing, sustainable global sourcing, supplier relationship management and service business.

Advanced specialisation studies, 18 ECTS credits, include courses on risk management and supply chain improvement, and external resource management.

Minor studies, at least 24 ECTS credits, may deal with international marketing, sustainability, digitalisation and business analytics, or international business and entrepreneurship.

Language studies, 6 ECTS credits.

The Master's thesis, 30 ECTS credits, is an advanced research project completed during the fourth semester. The Master's thesis requires approximately six months of full-time work.

Double degree studies for LUT degree students

The programme also offers a possibility for double degree studies.

The programme's double degree partner is the University of Twente, the Netherlands. Students admitted to complete the Master's degree in the MSM programme at LUT are eligible for the double degree programme.

Students admitted to the double degree programme receive a degree certificate from two universities after they have fulfilled the degree requirements of both universities.

Double degree studies for students from partner universities

Students from partner universities are able to study as double degree students at LUT.

The programme's double degree partner university is University of Twente, the Netherlands.
