The Finnish Education Evaluation Council (FINEEC) is an independent body of experts, whose task is to assist education institutions and the Ministry of Education in the assessment of the institutions' quality systems and processes and to thus develop the quality of education.

FINEEC has conducted audits of Finnish higher education institutions and their quality assurance systems since 2005. The audit assesses the coverage of the institution's quality assurance system, its functionality and its effectiveness.

The audit is based on an evaluation process and a set of criteria, which are in turn based on European principles for quality assurance.

FINEEC is a member of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) and the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE) and belongs to the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR).
