Goal 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts
We produce scientific knowledge and sustainable, system-based, technological, and business-related solutions to mitigate climate change.
LUT aims for net zero in 2050 in accordance with the initiative Race to Zero for Universities. We conduct climate action and research in line with worldwide efforts to limit global warming to 1.5°C. We have aimed to become carbon neutral by the end of 2024 for our GHG Protocol scope 1 and 2 emissions. We also strive to reduce our scope 3 emissions.
We report our actual carbon footprint annually. In addition, we help other organisations to reduce their carbon footprint, thereby increasing our own carbon handprint.
